When activated, Scalp protect mode measures distance using a Time of Flight sensor, automatically reducing heat as it moves closer to your hair. To maintain a comfortable, consistent scalp temperature.²

The Time of Flight sensor continually projects an invisible infrared beam to measure the distance between the machine and your hair.
Automatically protects
Air temperature automatically reduces as you get closer to your hair and scalp. For gentle up-close drying and improved thermal comfort.²

Pauses styling when you do
Pause detect uses a motion-sensing accelerometer to know when it’s put down during styling or sectioning. Automatically deactivating the heater, decreasing airflow and noise.
Learns and adapts to your go-to styling preferences
Intelligent attachments come preset with recommended airflow and heat settings – customisable by you. Attachment learning uses a Hall sensor to know which styling attachment is connected, automatically switching to your last-used settings.⁴
Recognises
The Hall sensor recognises the unique magnetic ID inside each styling attachment, to identify which has been connected.
Learns
Each styling attachment is pre-set with optimal heat and airflow settings, as recommended by our hair experts.⁴
Adapts
Customisable by you. The machine then remembers your go-to styling settings from your last use. Automatically adjusting the airflow and temperature.
Capsule illumination indicates air temperature
The suspended capsule changes colour, from cool blue through to vivid red, to show the current heat setting.
